MedCerts Offers New Portfolio of Specialty Courses

Published on

The healthcare industry is experiencing a severe staffing shortage. Hospitals, clinics and long-term care centers are struggling to retain and recruit professionals across all levels and specialties. In fact, the World Health Organization projects a 15 million worldwide deficit of healthcare workers by 2030.

For allied healthcare professionals, the process of learning continues long after they receive their initial certification. Helping your staff obtain additional healthcare certifications and healthcare training can lead to better patient service and potentially improve patient outcomes.

With that in mind, MedCerts Partner Solutions is excited to announce five new specialty courses for allied healthcare professionals. Geriatrics for the Healthcare Professional, Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare and Fundamentals of Mental Health Care are completely new courses offered for the first time. Two additional courses, Introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology and Professionalism in Allied Health had previously only been available through larger MedCerts programs and are now available as individual courses.

This a la carte approach allows employers to provide targeted training for their staff while giving students the flexibility to take single courses that can stack toward additional certifications. That means if a student goes on to take a MedCerts program that contains the course they’ve already completed, the price of the first course is deducted from the cost of the program taken second.

These courses focus on sharpening a specific aspect of patient care, take only 1-6 weeks to complete, and offer significant cost savings compared to full-length MedCerts programs. Introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology and Professionalism in Allied Health are already included in all MedCerts allied health program offerings and are the two courses that can currently be stacked to count towards completing specific MedCerts programs taken in the future.

For employers looking to explore the benefits of MedCerts training before committing to full-length programs, our shorter courses offer the perfect starting point. They provide a low-risk way to see the impact of our training firsthand. Additionally, if your healthcare team needs to build skills in a specific area of patient care, these targeted courses deliver exactly what you need, ensuring you invest in the right training without unnecessary extras.

Also, providing employees with additional training opportunities helps in reaching retention goals. For example, 71% of healthcare workers report greater satisfaction with their jobs after participating in an upskilling opportunity according to a Gallop/Amazon poll.
