To start your career journey as a Clinical Medical Professional, you need a high school diploma or equivalent, complete a formal training program such as MedCerts, pass the CMAA, CCMA and optional CET and CPT exams offered by the NHA. Students who choose to sit for the CET and CPT exams will be required to complete the following hands-on clinical requirements within 90 days of passing the exams. Students are responsible for securing their clinical sites:
Perform 10 EKGs on live individuals
- Perform 10 capillary sticks and 30 venipuncutres on live individuals
- Perform 10 EKGs on live individuals

The program includes expert-led video-based training, four eBooks (“Kinn’s Medical Administrative Assistant,” “Kinn’s Clinical Medical Assistant Textbook,” “Phlebotomy Worktext and Procedures Manual” and “Electrocardiography for the Healthcare Professional”), competency assessments and the national certification exam fee. All materials needed for the program are covered by MedCerts.

We’re not institutionally accredited as a training provider, but the certifications you’ll earn in this program are accredited through the exam-issuing authority, the NHA. So while our school itself doesn’t hold accreditation, you’ll earn an accredited certification upon passing your national exams.
While the target certifications (CMAA & CCMA) do not require the completion of hands-on experience for certification, students have the option to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) exams offered by the NHA. Students who choose to sit for these exams will be required to complete the following requirements to receive their certifications. Students are responsible for securing their clinical sites:
- CPT: 10 capillary sticks and 30 venipunctures on live individuals within 90 days of passing the CPT exam
- CET: Perform 10 EKGs on live individuals within 90 days of passing the CET exam.
